Free Multiple Resolution Twitter Background Templates v2.0 – Twitter Templates Good For Most Any Resolution

A couple of years ago I released a free set of Twitter templates in PNG format for the world to use. In that time, just over 1000 users downloaded them. What I noticed recently though is that they were still being downloaded.  That is a little problematic though because Twitter has changed the dimensions of their layout since I created those templates.  That means that for quite some time people have been downloading templates from me that simply don’t work any more.  So that meant I could either remove the download link or create a fresh set of templates.  I decided I would create a fresh set.

I have to say this batch came out even better than my first batch from a couple of years ago.  I also want to point out that while my templates are again free, this time I am relying on Crowdsquared to “protect” my content.  See, last time I released my templates I asked that if you used them that you go back and share a Tweet to the templates for me.  Well, like I already pointed out, my templates were downloaded in excess of 1,000 times.  The link to the page to pick them up however was tweeted fewer than 30 times.  That means an awful lot of people decided to ignore my request.  That statistic was a little more than disappointing.  I mean, I’m giving away free content that many designers and marketers would charge for and the bandwidth cost is absorbed by me as well; so I figure the least you could do is share the wealth and pass my gift along to your friends.

To best use these template, I recommend that you import the PNG as a new layer into the graphics editor (PhotoShop, GiMP, Paint.NET, etc.) of your choosing.  By building your background “under” this template layer, you will be able to see if your background is going to fit properly after it has been uploaded. Just be sure to hide or delete this layer before saving/exporting your background to Twitter.
